12:45 Lunch stop on our way to Southport. Read well in the GBG and the reality matched the description. Good beer, good food and a good atmosphere. Busy in one bar with a crowd watching the Liverpool match.

AllGates - Samhain4.50GoodDark ruby ale. Too smooth and malty for my tastes.
Empire - Twisted Melon Blonde4.10AcceptableTwisty lemon and coconut. The Cross Bay finished and this replaced it. I was offered a taster. Far too sweet.
