My first visit here, a good micropub with enthusiastic staff who talked to me about micropubs in East Kent. Well worth a visit.

11:15 First stop on a Midlands micropub tour. Had the place to ourselves as we were first in. Friendly welcome from the Guvnor.

Centrally placed next to the William Webb Ellis museum and opposite the famous school in St Matthews Street. Initially an off-licence selling cask beer to take away, the business took over the adjoining premises in 2014 and opened it as a micropub. Single room with bench seating, no bar, beers are served on gravity.
