Busy with discerning drinkers in the late afternoon. I sat next to a big pile of vinyl records and rummaged through, rekindling some old memories.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Track - Sonoma3.80ExcellentFrom key-keg. Hazy gold in colour. Citrusy, sustained hop flavours.
Billericay (large volume beers brewed at Brentwood) - Billericay Zeppelin3.80GoodAmber and clear. A straightforward Bitter. (
Billericay (large volume beers brewed at Brentwood) - Billericay Dickie4.20Not TriedThis ran out whilst I was drinking the Zeppelin.

My first visit here – I liked the pub but was perhaps unlucky with my beer choices.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Pitfield's - Imperial Chocolate Stout7.30AcceptableBlack. Strong and warming with lots of chocolate flavour. But overly fruity and slightly sour – not as fresh as it should be I suspect.
Pin-Up - Pale Ale5.10AcceptableDecent condition, but an odd taste I thought.
Colchester - Metropolis3.90Not Tried

The pub is found in Colchester, Essex, CO1 2PG.

Said to be Colchester’s oldest commercial property, this little building has housed a variety of bars in recent years, and in July 2015 re-opened as the Queen Street Brew House. It is owned by the same person who owns Dominion and Pitfield Breweries and so obviously has an affiliation with those beers. It is a fine old building with wooden beams and a low ceiling.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 5 of them.
