Early evening and there is quite a good Friday evening buzz to the place. A few US-style Halloween activities under way.

Brentwood - Wapping Gold4.30GoodI had to ask around to find out who brews this beer – nothing on the pumpclip. It’s an above average sort of Golden Ale.
Belhaven - Caledonian Deuchars IPA3.80Not Tried

My first ever visit here. A shame not to have seen it as it was, but the modernisation into a food and real ale type pub is the inevitable price of progress around here.

The pub is found in Whitechapel, Greater London, E1 1LX.

The Dog & Truck was present here by 1869 and was for a while one of seven pubs in Back Church Lane. A former Watney's pub, it is now the only survivor. It was rebuilt in its present form in 1935, at the same time as the development of the adjacent Berners Estate. As recently as 2015 it remained an old school East End local, with a pretty much intact 1970s interior. Completely modernised in 2016 and incorporated into the growing Pieminister chain. It has two rooms and a small outside drinking area. Now part of Enterprise Inns's Bermondsey Pub Co managed estate. Re-launched in February with change of name to be an Irish themed bar.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 6 different beers and tried 2 of them.
