Mid-afternoon for a late lunch on a muggy day. A remarkable thing happened here – for the very first time I used a CAMRA 50p Wetherspoon voucher. An unlikely conjunction of having one in my wallet, visiting a Wetherspoon pub and remembering to use it.

A large pub in High Street that was present by at least 1780, probably older given that it is a building of the 16th century. Acquired by Wetherspoon’s in 2016 and substantially refurbished and extended to the rear.
