Lunchtime and the pub is jammed full of people inside. The garden is near empty due to a biting wind.

The pub is found in Maldon, Essex, CM9 5HP.

An ancient pub on Maldon in Church Street (The Hythe). The pub is an ex-Truman’s house and stands on slightly higher ground, above its own beer garden which it shares with the adjacent fish restaurant. There is a tiny front bar and more extensive rooms to the rear. Overnight accommodation is available.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
