Much chomping of pizza going on towards the rear of the pub, but only one other person in just for a drink. With the Bell closed and this pub really a restaurant, it is little surprise that the Cock is so popular.

The pub is found in Ongar (or Chipping Ongar), Essex, CM5 9JG.
A former coaching inn, established in 1679, and still retaining an identifiable historic layout. It is however very much modernised inside. The public areas are today dominated by a pizza restaurant, but a small public bar is retained at the front and there is some courtyard seating.
We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
