After a wet day cycling from Liverpool (and a “dry” lunch due to some mechanical problems) I came here for a much earned reward. Very friendly locals and a good range of 5 very reasonably priced ales. The original micropub has obviously been successful and has expanded by acquiring the larger corner premises next door. The original micro pub has retained its intimate feel and it’s called the Tap Room. There is a hatch through to the “pub next door” and a connecting corridor. The full name is now the Shepherds’ Hall Ale House and Victoria Rooms with the new name emblazoned right round the corner frontage. An interesting new business model.

The tattoo parlour a few doors away was applying ‘Manchester Bees’ for a £10 charity donation. A long queue had formed and some were using this little pub as a waiting room. Unfortunately my timetable did not leave room for an inking.
