Lunchtime fairly quiet although I waited longer than expected due to the barman dealing with a customer who didn't know what they wanted.

Second pub on our revised itinerary, traditional back street local albeit rather incongrous for the size of the place in a residential area. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable barman offered tasters without prompting.

Early evening with a fairly light trade, although people are starting to gather for live jazz later in the evening. An impressive pub which is an unexpected find in a residential street.

We were greeted by very welcoming and enthusiastic staff and then sat down and discussed politics on the day before a general election. We noted that one of the Monster Raving Loony Party candidates wanted to abolish real ale by drinking it all.
