The pub is found in Bow, Greater London, E3 5TH.
A large, street-corner pub that was present on Grove Road as the Victoria Tavern by the early 1860s. At one time the pub was known for its flamboyant late-Victorian design, but it was rebuilt in plainer style in the 1930s. Traditionally a Charrington’s house, it was acquired by Charles Wells Brewery in 1991 and is probably best remembered for the period in the 2000s when it was owned by well-known ex-boxer Charlie Magri. The ground floor has a large and comfortable bar and a coffee shop tucked into one corner. There is a cellar cocktail bar and a backyard with alcove tables. Six handpumps on the bar counter.
We have visited this pub once, seen 1 beer and tried it.
