On entering here, I immediately added an hour to my planned train departure for York. A great, if accidental, discovery in Malton. Nice to chat to people who I concluded must be the brewery owner and head brewer, as well as to some fellow beer pilgrims from even further out of town than myself.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brass Castle - Hazelnut Mild4.20ExcellentA very nutty dark Mild from cask. I don’t always enjoy a Mild, but this is really tasty.
Brass Castle - Disruptor7.40ExcellentA hazy, golden, ‘New England IPA’ style beer. I had just read an article about New England IPAs, so it was good to meet one in the flesh. Not excessively carbonated from keg. Great hop flavours and I kidded myself that I was tasting black pepper and pine resin.
Brass Castle - Misfit (Centennial & Chinook)4.30GoodFirst class hop flavours, but a bit fizzy from keg.

The pub is found in Malton, North Yorkshire, YO17 7AB.

A single room pub in a building facing on to Yorkersgate in the town centre, adjacent to the brewery itself. Handy for Malton railway station. The Brass Castle Brewery was established in 2011, initially in Pocklington before moving to Malton, with the Taphouse following in 2017. The Taphouse is open from Thursday to Sunday – check website for precise opening hours. Two handpumps on the bar, several keg taps and a fridge full of bottles and cans from Brass Castle and other brewers.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
