An early evening visit on a quiet Monday. I was actually looking for the Hopfanatic brewery, but this is what I found at the address I had noted down. A very pleasant place, run tonight single-handedly by a lady who seemed to know everything there was to know about Hungarian beer. Nine beers available on draft and plenty of bottles too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Mad Scientist - Beer Geek Mojito6.50ExcellentA New England-style IPA, flavoured (although quite subtly) with mint. Hazy gold. Very enjoyable.
Szent András - Vári Nőveréck4.90ExcellentHazy gold in colour and quite dry. A summer Pale Ale somehow lingering on into winter.
Brew Your Mind - Candy Flip – Watermelon7.60ExcellentHazy gold in colour. This is another New England-style IPA, flavoured, as the name suggests, with watermelon. I think it works really well.

The pub is found in Budapest, Hungary, 1067.

A small, sub-ground floor level bar in the city centre. Located on Hunyadi ter (square) very close to Vorosmarty utca metro station. The name of the bar translates as Uncle Ogre. There are two rooms, the front one consisting of not much more than the bar counter with a couple of stools and a fridge, and a slightly more spacious seating area beyond. This bar specialises in Budapest-brewed beers, especially those from the Szent András brewery.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
