Sunday evening - on of the guvs was having a jam session with some mates. It probably would have been ok if they had practiced a little before performing.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ampersand - Hopwell IPA6.40ExcellentUnfined - but superbly balanced. Liked it so much I took a 2-pint takeaway (@ £3 a pint)

Busy Friday night. Traditional pub games being played outside. The pub continues with its policy of putting just one cask ale on for the weekend session, but plenty of interesting choice on the craft kegs. (4 others on that I didn’t note).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Moor - Raw4.30GoodOn keg. Good full-bodied beer.
Downlands (formerly South Downs) - Papa6.10GoodCask. Unfined - powerful fruity flavours and good ABV kick as well.
Kent - Zingiber4.10AcceptableI like Kent ales generally but this, with a hint of ginger, just didn’t do it for me.

Sunday evening - very quiet. Unfortunately no cask ale on - busy with a music night Saturday and they only put on one cask per week normally.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Magic Rock - Saucery3.90ExcellentKeg. A very tasty, unfined IPA with mosaic hops. Great fruity flavour.
Breakwater - Mystify4.30AcceptableKeg, but a bit lifeless.

5 pm opening - 4 other customers. I was pleasantly surprised by the feel of this - a very cosy bar with a good choice of craft beers. Just the one cask ale is the norm apparently due to the restricted opening times (only open Thurs and Fri evenings plus Saturday and Sunday (12-2 and 5-10).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wantsum - Dynamo4.30GoodVery pleasant golden ale in good condition.
Breakwater - Tropical Thunder6.30GoodOne of the 6 craft keg offerings. Superb mango flavour due to the abundance of hops used apparently.

My first visit to this new venture, I looked on the map and thought that it would be a long walk from Shepherds Well station but it turned out to be fairly close. The pub was open all day today because of a football match on the television which proved a benefit to me because I did not have to sit outside for fifteen minutes waiting for opening time.

McCanns (used to use Angels and Demons name as well) - Harry Hop3.70Good
