Charleroi is reputed to be Europe’s ugliest city, an accusation I would not argue against, but all is charming in here with a good beer degustation and an excellent lunch.

A large, modern brewpub cum bakery cum restaurant cum delicatessen cum art gallery. Seating on at least two floors with a small number of outdoor tables which almost, but not quite, have a canal view. The pub is situated in Rue de Brabant, just off Quai Arthur Rimbaud by the footbridge.
