Mid afternoon not too busy with space available in all areas. Overwhelming smell of cooking oil rather tarnished the atmosphere, literally!

Ainsty - Flummoxed Farmer4.00GoodA light Blonde Ale with a grapefruit and tropical nose, giving a refreshing and slightly hoppy, dry finish. Sadly I was unable to form a hermetic seal between the glass and my epidermis to avoid the oil fumes..

The pub is found in York, North Yorkshire, YO1 9TU.

An attractive, historic pub in Merchants Place which, although partly opened up, still has several different drinking areas served from a central bar. It is possible to work out the original layout of the interior from the exposed wooden beams and fireplaces. There are plenty of tables provided outside in its large beer garden.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 1 of them.
