A hot Saturday evening we came for a sea breeze. Very busy - good to see. Beer choice disappointing with just Doom Bar on pump so I went for Neck Oil and rather regretted it - a pint of this and half of draught cider was £9.40. The DFLs didn’t seem to care though.

Lunchtime - cycled over to meet a friend who has recently moved to Whitstable. We sat on the decking and enjoyed the sun and the view.
Only one ale on today but usually 2 or 3.

The pub is found in Whitstable, Kent, CT5 4DD.
Pub restaurant in Joy Lane. Garden with large decked area with views across the sea to Sheppey and Essex. The pub dates back to 1861 with the current building built around the turn of the 20th century alongside the original alehouse (now gone). The “Rose In Bloom” took its name from one of the best known Bawley boats which was engaged in fishing in the famous “Pollard” oyster beds, which belonged to the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
