Mid afternoon with plenty of time for a beer and refuel whilst waiting for my bus connection to Auckland. The downstairs area has been gutted and is now empty with the brewery relocated to a bigger premises elsewhere.

Early evening not too busy as far enough away from the trendier lake shore area. Bizarre setup with the gift/junk shop on the ground floor with the brewery to the rear. The bar, seating and balcony thus on the upper level. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with the open veranda to the balcony providing a refreshing breeze, to add to the quirkyness of the place German oompah loompah and folk music in the background to complement the many cuckoo clocks and various other paraphernalia adorning the walls.
