5th visit of the outing: Only my third visit to this micropub in Bexleyheath's version of Long Lane. Apparently, it got its name from the long haul it was in getting it off the ground. Most of its ground space is on the outside on a spacious pavement frontage and mirroring or even exceeding the tiny square-shaped interior. Unusually for such a small interior of a micro, it has a sizeable bar facing you as you enter. Wins the prize for me as the most petite to just stand up in as in the gents. Has a separate one as in the ladies and can only trust they can manage to sit down in it! A warm friendly welcome from the barman and barmaid and just 3 other customers in before our party of two arrived. They, like the Kentish Belle, also close at 8pm on Sundays and so we only made it with about 15 minutes to spare before here calling last orders at 7.30pm. On my second visit, I sat outside and in the summertime so it all seemed much roomier. My first visit was around about the social distancing time of Covid with bizarre plastic screens up between the tables and so a bit like being rolled up in clingfilm!

Kent - Christmas Session3.70GoodGood head and lacing and lasting on this Kentish session pale, also called the Satsuma Pale, and from Birling, north of West Malling. A hoppy first bite. A pleasant dry hoppiness rising from what are most likely to be American hops. This is though not specifically stated in achieving its punchy citrus and floral flavourings that then became evident. Certainly a touch of hoppy fruitiness rearing up from its citrusy notes from satsuma mixed with elderflower, but not overly fruited, before its sailing out.

Late afternoon visit after Eltham and Bexleyheath chores. My first since it opened last year. Very compact inside and virtually full. Warm enough for several to use the out front pavement seating. Lots of staff, lots of service and lots of friendliness.

The pub is found in Bexleyheath, Greater London, DA7 5AE.

Former tattoo parlour opened as a micropub in Long Lane on Friday 28th August 2020 after "a long haul" to get permissions and then modify the building. Located amid a row of shops this venue dispenses cask ales and cider / perry on gravity from a rear chilled cellar room. Quite compact inside with a mix of high benches and tables and low seating and tables. Quite a large pavement seating area. Beware, last orders must be placed no later than 30 minutes before the advertised closing time. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2022 and again in 2023.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 7 different beers and tried 3 of them.
