Late afternoon busy around the bar area but space available in the gallery so opted for there. Calm relaxed atmosphere with subtle lighting, soft background music and wall to wall beer lists to ponder over. Barman performing some interesting balancing acts to update such lists which involved sliding out the old and replacing with the new reminded me of changing finger boards before Solari's became commonplace. Only listed the beers I consumed.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Musketeers - Jack’s Precious IPA5.90ExcellentA light floral fare with a spicy hop bitterness combined with peachy notes belied its ABV.
Verhaeghe - Duchesse Chocolate Cherry 6.80GoodInitial lactic sourness dissipated into a cherry malt sweetness with just a teeny dark chocolate hint.
Gollem - Gollem Amber6.50GoodImagine a lollipop flavoured with figs dates and prunes plunged into a 1970's sherbert dip-dab? Well there you go! Bizarre but more-ish..

It was early afternoon when we arrived here and there was only a handful of drinkers in. I really liked it in here though, it feels like you've stepped back in time a couple of hundred years.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brouwerij Bosteels - Pauwel Kwak8.00ExcellentI've always liked this in bottles and never tried it or even seen it on tap before so I had to have it. Sweet and nutty with lots of caramel and a bit of fruit. Really enjoyable beer.

The pub is found in Amsterdam, Netherlands, 1012 VZ.

The first bar in Amsterdam to start selling speciality beers apparently. A very nice bar that is obviously very old. Fully wooden interior with lots of nooks and crevices. Seating area up the stairs behind the bar. Around a dozen beers on tap and around 100 bottles.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 4 different beers and tried them all.
