Mid evening. I walked into the “over 18s only” area that reminded me of the The Jockey from the Shameless TV series. Took my half and found a quiet spot in this spacious “Hungry Horse” house to read my book - until the football came on in that area and nearly blasted my eardrums. I probably won’t be back. Three hand pumps with Santa hats on - just the “IPA” on.

I last came here in Ind Coope/Friary Meux days and in recent years the pub got itself a poor reputation but it has now turned itself around and seems a well managed pub. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
