Snuck in just before 16.00 closing and the lady was more than happy to serve me. Sadly now just a bottle shop in a new location, the previous venue as on P&B closed a couple of years ago.

Kasta - Oatmeal Stout4.80GoodPunchy meaty with a bitter coffee kick. Not the silky smooth creamy stout I was hoping for.

This was on my 'to do' list whilst on the island but sadly upon research found it to be closed until further notice hence saving me the bus trip from Chania. Investigating with the knowledgeable barman at Mamouth they are 'not doing too well'.

KASTA Microbrews is a family-owned business producing high-quality fresh, unfiltered and unpasteurised beers in small batches (“microbrews”). KASTA Brewing Lab, the house of “KASTA”, was inspired and founded by Kostas Antonakakis (Biologist MSc – Brewer) along with his spouse Anna Tzani (Pharmacist MSc). They opened its doors in late 2018 in Heraklion city centre, where they were both born and raised. The brand name “KASTA” is actually an acronym formed by the initial letters of the names of their family members.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 5 different beers and tried 1 of them.
