Early afternoon and busy with diners - thankfully the dining area in a separate room kept the bar area for drinkers only. Many of us opted to sit out in the pleasant front garden area, where an already friendly welcome and efficient service was exceeded when the landlady furnished every table with large bowls of rather delicious chips, on the house!
