Late afternoon to early evening in this busy locals pub, I shared a table by the bar with a chap who was a biker so we exchanged tales of our trips in the UK and EU. My initial disappointment of just one national bland available subsided when the barman suggested I try a bottle of locally brewed Christmas ale to which a few of those sufficed for my couple of hours stay.
