We were down visiting UWE and popped into to Bris'ol to have a look around. It was raining lightly and we'd been up since 6am so it really was time for a sit down. Lovely old pub and fairly busy - but then it was half four on a Saturday in a big town.

In King Street, historic Grade-II listed pub dating from 1664 in which tradition has it Daniel Defoe met Alexander Selkirk, who became the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe. Reopened in June 2021 after being closed for over two years and it has been reinvented as an alehouse.
