| Long Man - Old Man | 4.30 | ![]() | Very good head and lacing and lasting well in its transparent plastic beaker on this Old Ale brewed at Litlington* in East Sussex, north-west of Eastbourne, and near the seaside town of Seaford some 3 miles away. A dry bitter first bite. A good dose of dry maltiness with notes of coffee and chocolate rising and a bitter hop or two abseiling downwards care of its Fuggles and Bramling Cross. *The Long Man of Wilmington, also known as the Wilmington Giant, is some 3 miles north-east of Litlington on the steep slopes of Windover Hill. The massive outline of a human figure, 235 feet tall, is holding two long staves or poles. Long Man Brewery has integrated the Long Man of Wilmington figure into nearly every aspect of their design and brand identity and their Old Man Old Ale is a direct nod to the figure. |

The pub is found in Horsham, West Sussex, RH12 1EB.
Opening in December 2022, the Beer Mine is a now well-established micropub and beer shop at 20 Carfax in Horsham’s town centre near the Carfax bandstand. Run by the team from the nearby Anchor Tap, there are two cask ales from regional brewers on gravity dispense, plus two on keg dispense and two ciders. The beer shop offers a range of bottled and canned beers from the UK and Europe and also has a small seating area but no toilets. Shuts at 6pm most days.
We have visited this pub twice, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
