In a wet and windy January night Jane and I decided it would be good to see what the Rose & Crown has like since it changed hands in March 2006. We were warmly greeted by the lady behind the bar as we entered and the beer line-up looked the same as always. The pub interior hadn't changed much either. This is still a great pub.

Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40ExceptionalAs she poured it I could smell chocolate from 2 feet away. It tasted of creamy milk chocolate with a lovely subtle burnt malt bitterness on the finish. This was top class Goacher's Mild. I love this beer.

Cottage - Wessex Growler4.00Not TriedHad a sip of Jane's. A dark amber best bitter that smelt and tasted of toffee-caramel. Really excellent.

The pub has just changed hands this week so it was interesting to see what had changed. The beer range looked the same and so did the food.

Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExceptionalOne of the best pint of Harvey's I've had. Lovely and fresh with a good hop to sweet malt ratio and that unmistakeable harveys yeast taste. Fantastic
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40UndrinkableVinegar with a hint of goacher's mild. I should have taken it back really but I didn't, I just left it.

Arrived about 9.45pm and it was quite busy for a pub in the middle of nowhere. Good friendly atmosphere and a loverly pub interior. This is a great pub for its beer range, setting and building

Evening session with my mum and dad (as I was taking him out for his birthday). Started off quite busy, thinned out a bit and then got busy again. Very friendly pub with a loverly atmosphere and a great interior.
