Hogan SamplingGood14 Feb 2026 3rd beer of this visit: Good head and lacing and lasting on this jet black Derbyshire porter from Thornbridge Hall in Bakewell, and from a brewing company founded in 2005 and widely regarded as a pioneer of the UK craft beer scene. A malty first hit from its Maris Otter, chocolate and wheat malts. A chocolatey note rising in its gentle bitterness derived from its Goldings hops. Hints of runny salted caramel winning over with touches of vanilla ice cream coming to the fore and achieved through the use of specific ingredients like oats and lactose. A lingering chocolatey sweetness playing out. A touch too sweet for my taste buds but presented here in fine condition.

Philip PirripAcceptable31 Jan 2025 Poured quite flat from "That pump". Multiple decantings between two glasses brought some head and lacing. Marked as poured
Philip PirripAcceptable25 Jan 2025 Poured flat through "that pump" hence this mark. Multiple decantings between two glasses brought it to life
