| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 01 Aug 2026 | 1st beer of this visit: Third day on and still exhibiting head and lacing at first but not keeping it. A dry bitter first hit on this Tunbridge Wells-brewed bitter. A gentle fruited hoppiness rising with earthy spicy notes from its Fuggles hops and with berry and other dried fruit flavours emanating from its Bramling Cross hops. A maltiness winning over with a toffee-infused biscuity flavouring prevailing. A dry fruited bitterness sailing out. Past its best and so one sufficed for me. |

| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 30 Jul 2026 | Fresh on and exhibiting some head and lacing but not keeping it which is very unusual for a freshly tapped beer. A hoppy first hit on this Tunbridge Wells-brewed bitter. A dry and gently fruited bitterness rising. A toffee-infused maltiness with a biscuity touch rising. A dry hoppiness prevailing with a hint of earthiness and spice from its Fuggles hops. A fruity note lingering on its descent and from its Bramling Cross hops lending subtle berry and other dried fruit flavours. Perhaps just a tad too fresh which is why its head and lacing was somewhat momentary on being first poured. It was though flavoursome with no off-flavours in its favour. |
| Philip Pirrip | ![]() | 21 Apr 2026 | Did not pick up flavours promised in tasting notes. A basic bitter of sorts |
| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 21 Apr 2026 | 1st beer of this visit: This English best bitter brewed just outside Tunbridge Wells at High Brooms, Kent, roughly 2 miles north-east of the town centre, was on its second day and exhibiting still very good head and lacing and lasting. A fruity bitter first hit. A maltiness climbing from its five malts including Maris Otter with a biscuity and toffee infusion becoming evident. A fruit-infused hoppiness aided by its Fuggles lending it spicy notes and Bramling Cross firing off all those dried berries to do battle with a slightly sweetened malty concoction prevailing. The odd medicinal kick felt from its yeasty fruitiness lingering. Slightly over-fruited for me but still served in good nick on its second day on. |

| Hogan Sampling | ![]() | 14 Sep 2025 | Fresh on and good head and lacing but not lasting on this Tunbridge Wells' bitter from High Brooms, just north-east of Tunbridge Wells. A very malty bitter first bite. A dry bitterness rising with a biscuity maltiness. Hints of toffee and dried berry fruit emerging onto my palate. A moreishly pleasant hoppiness, aided by its Bramling Cross and Fuggles hops, sailing out. |
