Mid afternoon. Half a dozen customers spread around what is now quite a sizeable pub. There are now 3 indoor drinking areas including a cosy small room at the rear that was once a kitchen.
Kent - Tropic Ale | 4.90 | | Superb citrus fruity notes, good body and top condition. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - Black Pearl Oyster Stout | 6.20 | Not Tried | £5.80 a pint but some satisfying supping noises from a couple of appreciative gents to my left |
The Craft Beer Man - CBM4 - Best Bitter | 4.00 | Not Tried | Marked up as 4.1 |
Dorking - Pitchside Pale | 4.30 | Not Tried
07 Sep 2024 (Hogan Sampling)
Busy for my early afternoon and first visit to this micro but seating to be had outside at the front and inside. Warm welcome and 4 real ales to choose from and for quenching my thirst worked up from walking along the coast from the Brickfield micropub at Swalecliffe.
Mighty Oak - River Breeze | 4.20 | | In fine shape with good lacing. Tropical fruit and citrus mouthfeel with a touch of liquorice flavouring and a fine hoppy aftertaste. |

Pig & Porter - Whispering Grass | 5.50 | Not Tried
Three Acre - Skylark Stout | 4.60 | Not Tried

Our monthly micropub trip was planned to be to the Handsome Sam - but this was unexpectedly closed just after noon with no sign of life. We hastily rescheduled to the TA. Good welcome for six of us and a few other regulars in. We mainly had four pint jugs and pretended they could fill 5 pint glasses - they nearly did!
Mighty Oak - Equinox | 4.10 | | Superb golden ale in fine condition. |
Koomor (contract brewed at Iron Pier) - Petal | 4.80 | | Unfined. Very unusual flavour, sweet and flowery I think. Enjoyed it. |
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 5 | 4.40 | Not Tried | I’m seeing this nearly everywhere I go these days. Didn’t try it but it went down well with the others. |
Koomor (contract brewed at Iron Pier) - Earth | 4.80 | Not Tried
