Stephen HarrisNot Tried01 Mar 2012 Selling very well and voted beer of the festival; somehow I didn’t quite get around to it.

Rising Sun, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Martin the MildmanExcellent07 Jul 2012 Every sample is different, this time it's cherry that is the dominant flavour, with the chocolate malt taking a back seat. Still a superb flavoursome beer. My score 17/20.

Crown & Kettle, Manchester, Greater Manchester

Martin the MildmanExceptional21 Jan 2011 Superb cherry flavour, dominant but still with some chocolate malt in the background. Finish is reminiscent of cherry liqueur. A classic. My score 18/20.

AlenomoreExceptional02 Oct 2010 "Smooth dark mild with a dry hint of cherry". This was more like a Belgium Kriek. Superb.

The Trafalgar, South Wimbledon, Greater London

Martin the MildmanExcellent22 Oct 2009 Cherry flavour dominates, but still allows the chocolate malt flavours to come through to the finish. My score 16/20.

Great British Beer Festival 2008, Earl's Court, Central London

IanPoor06 Aug 2008 I mean, you just have to don’t you? When you are presented with a beer title like that, you have to see what it’s like. Dark brown/dark ruby. Thin beige head. Lots of cherry, but chalky cherry. Cough syrup type aroma. Pretty awful, just stewed cherry with a bit of malt. Awful.
