My first visit to this pub, and it's another hit for Sheffield. Very sophisticated interior. Not many in when we got here, but then it was only 1 in the afternoon.

Met up with Alex, the Marketing Manager from Thornbridge Hall, and he kindly organised some cellar runs of jugs of Epic Halcyon for us. Landlord was very understanding as we had been drinking all day and one of our group had a bit of a snooze in the corner. I ended up chatting with Danes about beer and travel and the UK. I really, really like this pub.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling | 5.20 | | After having this not on form in Derby on the Tuesday and then on the previous evening at this pub, this was astonishing. Even Jacob from Ratebeer only wanted to drink this. The Nelson Sauvin hops were outstanding. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Epic Halcyon | 7.70 | | I must admit I lost count of how much of this I had as I just kept pouring out glasses from the jug for other Ratebeer people as well as myself. I think the word "messy" would be appropriate. Flowery aroma, more flowery hop than the regular version. Then really piney resiny after with great hot hops on the end. So resiny it’s untrure |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Seaforth | 5.90 | | Second day running and I still liked it. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | Not Tried

Although there were plenty of beers to drink in Huddersfield, I came back early to ensure that I came to this pub. Thornbridge are one of my favourite breweries and I wanted to try their beers here. It's a superb relaxed pub where I felt instantly at home and would be the first pub I would come back to in Sheffield.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Seaforth | 5.90 | | Copper amber colour with a slight haze. Lasting beige head. Aroma of slightly salty hop. Maltier than Jaipur, some caramel, but really aggressive English hops on finish. Typical Thornbridge drinkability. Impressive. Pink grapefruit on aroam. Stunning English IPA So aggressive on the end it's untrue, but in a good way. Bit of toffee int he flavour and peppery hop on finish. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Wild Swan (was 3.5%) | 3.40 | | I probably have not had this since Reading BF a few years ago. Hazy very pale gold, with a lasting white head. Bit of nettle on the aroma. Fantastic at just 3.4% ABV. A light ale with great hop sting on the finish. Awesome really. Yeast, lemon squash on the aroma. Again this great Thornbridge drinkability. Frankly a stunning lemony light bitter. Gorgeous and great intensity of flavour. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Kipling | 5.20 | | Not in great shape to be honest, far better the next evening when this was so good. A bit too sweaty sox rather than singing Nelson Sauvin hop on the aroma. |
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Craven Silk | 4.00 | Not Tried
