Sunday lunchtime. A beautiful sunny day in London. I had Sunday roast here and then went on to Borough Market to watch the Manchester derby.
Loddon - Hocus Pocus | 4.60 | | Chestnut colour with thin beige head. Some rather nice fruit and malts with a sour edge. Lovely old style ale. Good roasty dry malts and then this sour finish is excellent. |
Dark Star - Hophead was 3.8% (some has also been brewed by Fuller's) | 3.40 | | Very poor pint of this, muddy golden beer. |

Me Gail and Dan were doing our Joe Tourist thing in London we met some relatives.
It was early afternoon and the Pub was fairly empty some people were smoking outside no smoking policy introduced already
Food wasn't up to much
Itchen Valley - Tower Bridge | 4.50 | | Malty wasn't in very good condition but drinkable |
21 Apr 2007 (Ian)
Pub number 7 on the SE London crawl. Stopped off for a beer and a burger. Decent line up of UK micros
Springhead - Charlie's Angel | 4.50 | | Copper with thin white head. It's a bitter. Good yeast, malt, hop mix, but still a bitter. Good fruit, rather drinkable. |
Mordue - Radgie Gadgie | 4.80 | | Copper with lasting off white head. No offence, but this could be a strong bitter from anyone in the UK. Decent heat from the alcohol, but hop profile is very English. Earthy. Heat and nice hop on finish. |
Itchen Valley - Tower Bridge | 4.50 | | Rich malt, very good hop, some choc. Hop is English, slightly tart, sharp, tingly. I like it, good English bitter, excellent malt hop balance. |
Loddon - Flight of Fancy | 4.20 | | Pale gold, slight haze, thin white head. Cardboard. Smells a bit of stale cereal. Tastes of chewing on cardboard with a bit of an English citrus golden beer behind it. I mean it's a good beer if you got rid of the wheat. |

Mid evening on a Tuesday and there were quite a few people in having a drink and a meal. Architecturaly, quite a nice building and I do like the booths in the dining area.
Itchen Valley - Tower Bridge | 4.50 | | Amber colour with thick creamy beige head. Lovely bitter. Great malt and then this kick of hop on the end. Aroma of malty fruit. The bitterness on finish is stunning. Great bitter. Fruit verges on stone fruit. But the bitterness is great. Smooth in mouth, lacks just a bit of body |

Downton - Chimera Quadhop | 3.90 | | Nice enuff citrus hop aroma, but malts are stale and dull. Hazy gold colour with white head. Finish has some citrus/hop |
