Hogs Back - HOP | 4.60 |
Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Redemption - Trinity | 3.00 | Billed as a pale mild, certainly mild in strength, but not in taste with a huge grapefruity citrus hop flavour. There is a good malt base and little bitterness in the flavour so mild it is. My score 16/20. | |
Adnams - Mild | 3.20 | A smoother, sweeter and more rounded sample here, more as I remember it. Served on gravity. My score 16/20. |
Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Porter | 5.40 | Sweetish, creamy and tasted strong. | |
Redemption - Pale Ale | 3.80 | A good session beer but not as hoppy as the notes would suggest. | |
Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - Citra | 3.10 | A golden beer that was citrussy hoppy. | |
Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - Amarilla | 4.20 | Very citrussy. | |
Camden Town - Camden Pale Ale | 4.50 | A good pale ale. | |
Toad - The Da Vinci Toad | 5.50 | Decent flavour for a stronger bitter. | |
Redemption - Hopspur | 4.50 | Not as much "nose" as the Trinity but more hoppy in the taste. | |
BrewDog - Alpha Dog (Low strength) | 3.80 | Surprisingly I agreed with some of the programme description. A thick foamy head even on gravity dispense. | |
Redemption - Trinity | 3.00 | Described as a 3 hop, 3 malt at 3% beer for the festival. Before drinking the glass smelt like walking into an oast house and it was wonderfully hoppy. | |
Bristol Beer Factory - Milk Stout | 4.50 | Sweetish and creamy. | |
Brodie's (latterly contract brewed by Rhymney) - Brain Wave | 3.10 | A special charity brew that was 2.9%. I thought it a bit sweet and nothingy. | |
Windsor & Eton - Knight of the Garter | 3.80 | Pretty average. | |
BlackFriars - Whyte Angel | 4.50 | A typical English wheat beer. Lacking that something that the German weisse have. |
