Late afternoon visit through to the evening, I met a group of friends here and we occupied a small room at the rear of the pub. A good welcoming boozer and well worth the visit. Several of our group tried the sausages sourced from a local butcher and they were all impressed.

14:50 We rejoined the forward party. Landlord told us how he was organising a coach trip to visit the other five East Anglian POTYs in one day. A bottle collection has been added since my last visit.

Afternoon visit to celebrate a joint birthday party, a large crowd filled the left hand bar, with the other bar serving some happy locals taking advantage of the fact that the pub was unusually staying open all day.

Excellent drinking pub with Landlord who really knows his beer. My usual group of ex-railwaymen so we took over the bar.

The pub is found in Baldock, Hertfordshire, SG7 5AW.
Traditional pub located not far from the railway station. Greene King tied but with a liberal guest ale policy. Two bars, function room, conservatory and pool room. Impressive Simpsons brewery sign in right hand bar. 13 handpumps in banks of 5, 4 and 4 - one of which regularly dispenses local cider. Live music sessions. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2013.
