Lunchtime visit ahead of football at Broadhall Way. The pub seems to have forgotten how thirsty are Leyton Orient supporters, as six casks when I arrive have been whittled down to the last knockings of just one by the time I leave at 2:15.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Crouch Vale - Sorachi Ace4.00ExcellentI always enjoy the CV single-hop beers, and they do a great job here with Sorachi Ace.
Mighty Oak - Elementary Penguin3.50AcceptableDoesn’t taste a patch on what it did when I drank this beer a couple of weeks ago – but I notice the pump-clip is reversed next time I look at the bar, so perhaps I had the last one out.

16:00 Stopped for a drink after a walk by Fairlands Valley lakes. Just a couple in the public bar, saloon bar busy. Nice display on history of the pub's name in the public bar.

Crowded and with a good atmosphere on Saturday lunchtime. I had a nice sausage baguette for lunch. Unfortunately, they are obliged to serve beer in plastic cups on matchdays. More by chance than design this was a good session on the dark beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Holden's - Old Ale7.20ExcellentFabulous, black, old ale.
RCH - Oakademy of Excellence Guest Brewer "Light Porter" for Oakham4.10ExcellentA collaboration brew with RCH. Deep red/brown in colour. Malt-led, some roast barley, hops in finish.

Tring - Tea Kettle Stout4.70GoodVery decent stout.
