Quite a good crowd in for a Monday evening. This is another pub where the default glassware for a pint of cask beer is the dimpled mug. GK house beer also available.

Early evening and the pub is comfortably populated, although nothing like the crowds that gather here later in the week.

The pub is found in City, Central London, EC4N 1SP.
This pub was established here (in an earlier building) by 1860. The 1973 City pub guide bemoans the fact that, whilst it is a large pub, it has almost no seating. This is no longer the case and there are extensive seating areas surrounding the island bar at ground floor level, and a comfortable lounge at basement level. The pub has no fewer than 19 handpumps in the two bars and sells a wide range of Greene King products plus guest beers. Metropolitan Pub Co. is a Greene King pub brand.
