A few of us in here this evening. No Lynne who still has covid.3 beer on, £3 to £3.50 a pint makes this a an excellent value micro.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - DogBolter Dark Porter5.60ExcellentThis seems to be everywhere at the moment and this was a fine pint.
24 Apr 2021 (Dosser)
Sunny afternoon and half a dozen in the garden. 4 ales available. Lots of space in a sunny courtyard. Heaters set up for the cold evenings.
BeerABVScoreNotes

Early evening visit for an old boy's 72nd birthday celebrations for which he was in the chair. Almost as many dogs as people here it seemed, often enjoying lounging in the hay bales. Time to leave perhaps when a couple of glasses were spilt and smashed on the cobbled floor.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Frome (formerly Milk Street) - Funky Monkey (organic)4.00AcceptableNew cask on, too fresh and over-carbonated and sharp to the palate
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - East Kent Green Hop Collaboration (with Canterbury Brewers, Canterbury Ales, Four Candles & Northdown)5.00PoorLast or second to last out of the cask, cask was tipped to pour it and it was flat and hazy and took a long time to drink down. No off flavours
Frome (formerly Milk Street) - Morello Bordello5.20Not Tried
Kent - Zeus4.50Not Tried
Swan - Ruffled Feathers3.80Not TriedPerhaps the one to have had, at least one person stuck on this all evening
03 Oct 2018 (Magnus Greel)
Late afternoon to early evening visit, busy with many local dog walkers in attendance. Our group found tables at the rear of the pub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Frome (formerly Milk Street) - Funky Monkey (organic)4.00GoodThis had replaced the Green Hop, again ice cold and not much condition, slight caramel hint to this rather bland fare.
Swan - Ruffled Feathers3.80AcceptableMalty watery copper ale served ice cold and lacking any condition

Early evening from opening time onwards, the pub soon became busy with people ostensibly taking their dogs out for the evening. A friend of ours provided birthday drinks which were much appreciated.

Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - East Kent Green Hop Collaboration (with Canterbury Brewers, Canterbury Ales, Four Candles & Northdown)5.00GoodA brew by Gadds', Canterbury Ales, Canterbury Brewers and Four Candles breweries.

***** Venue has announced it will close on 31st August 2023 permanently.***** Micropub located in Church Street (corner of Northdown Road) which opened on Good Friday 18th April 2014 although it had a pre-opening soirée the previous evening. A converted 19th century stable which serves cask ales, ciders and wines often (but not exclusively) locally produced. Handmade pork pies and Kent crisps and cheese make up the comestibles. The ales and ciders are dispensed by gravity from a cooled cabinet containing wooden stillage capable of holding 8 firkins with cider boxes on the top tier. From the street entrance is gained down a small slope and through a latched wicket gate. This leads to a patio area with wooden decking then to the stable building itself. The inside is floored with original cobbles often strewn with hay for that authentic stable feel. Unisex toilet behind 2 doors in the corner. CAMRA Thanet branch Pub of the Year 2015 and again in 2016. CAMRA East Kent Pub of the Year 2015 and again in 2016. CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year 2015 and subsequently in November 2015 selected as one of the last 4 in the CAMRA National 2015 PoTY competition.
