Swift one during a cycle ride. The Snowdon rugby club had been in earlier and left about a dozen lager bottles strewn outside - some hardly touched. When did rugby players stop drinking real ale? Peaceful with just a few locals in when I arrived. Polypins still being used for the ale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - HPA Hoppy Pale Ale3.60GoodVery drinkable.

4 pm opening. Since my last visit the small cool room has been demolished enlarging the servery. Seems like a backward step to me - the ale is now served from polypins from a large fridge. Friendly welcome and wood burning stove on the go.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wantsum - Montgomery (was SS Richard Montgomery)4.00AcceptableNice enough - but a “dead” beer from a polypin.

Late afternoon - just after 4. The outside area was the place to be on a late, warm August day. Draft beer is still £3 a pint here.

The pub is found in Barfrestone, Kent, CT15 7JG.

Down a short unmade drive off Pie Factory Road a micropub which opened on Saturday 16th August 2014 based in a converted outbuilding whose most recent use had been as an art gallery. It is a chalet style pub with country kitchen styling. Wooden tables, chairs, and a rough wood bar counter. Outdoor patio and lawned area. Brings a pub back to a village which has been without one since the Yew Tree closed. Beers and ciders were originally served on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled cellar room which could be viewed through a window behind the bar counter but that has since been swept away. About a two mile walk from Shepherds Well railway station. Closed on Mondays. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2016. Venue has stated it will close on Sunday 12th June 2022 as no longer viable and did at the end of the session. Planning permission being sought for residential use. Eventually granted in 2024.

We have visited this pub 24 times, seen 35 different beers and tried 28 of them.
