Becoming a habit of mine - cycling to Coldred and taking a Wrong Turn on the way.
Late afternoon - just the one other customer when I arrived but others arriving as I left. Had a good chat about Dover and Canterbury pubs - both of us favouring the former on balance.

I’d heard rumours that this was closed for January and/or February. Pleasantly surprised to find it open before 5 with at least 10 customers.
Winter opening 3 on Thursday and Friday, noon at the weekend. Close M/T/W. But I was told spring opening times will be longer. All ales still £3 a pint.

Mid afternoon visit - I was the only customer. Landlady bemoaning the lack of appreciation from customers about her restricted opening hours. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays now. All real ales at £3 a pint.

Mid evening. Biggest disappointment after a long and circuitous journey to find venue closed for a private function. Pubs such as this are destination Micropubs and when this remote it is a real kick in the teeth.

Sooo hard to find. Did a tour of East Kent to get here. Very unusual. Has a huge porch now and a band welcomed us in on a cold miserable Bank holiday.Came third in East Kents POTY announced today.

Early Friday evening - I have cycled from Dover to get here - any beer will taste good after that! A jolly atmosphere with the log burning stove blazing away.
