The pub is found in Barfrestone, Kent, CT15 7JG.
Down a short unmade drive off Pie Factory Road a micropub which opened on Saturday 16th August 2014 based in a converted outbuilding whose most recent use had been as an art gallery. It is a chalet style pub with country kitchen styling. Wooden tables, chairs, and a rough wood bar counter. Outdoor patio and lawned area. Brings a pub back to a village which has been without one since the Yew Tree closed. Beers and ciders were originally served on gravity dispense from a temperature controlled cellar room which could be viewed through a window behind the bar counter but that has since been swept away. About a two mile walk from Shepherds Well railway station. Closed on Mondays. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2016. Venue has stated it will close on Sunday 12th June 2022 as no longer viable and did at the end of the session. Planning permission being sought for residential use. Eventually granted in 2024.
We have visited this pub 24 times, seen 35 different beers and tried 28 of them.
