Found out new ale hub opened here yesterday, micropub no 8. Long walk so stopped here on the way. Nine ales on! Heaven. But all so ordinary and £4.50 a pint. No dark or strong. Getting to be a pattern. Ramsgit tomorrow where they give you what you want. Within reason! Will we make the new micro with such an attractive beer selection here? Lol.
St Austell - Proper Job | 4.50 | | Warm. Totally uninteresting. Lady had to pull off some of each beer to see what colour it was! |
Hop Back - Taiphoon | 4.20 | | Warm as toast. No flavour. But drinkable. Lynnes description not mine. Sad. Pub smells of food. |

Well worth the stomp to the far end of town for a good selection of ales in a comfortable and welcoming proper pub atmosphere although the food emphasis was noticable with faint smell of cooking oil wafting freely.
Castle Rock - Elsie Mo | 4.70 | | A blend of First Gold, Aurora and Bobek hops give the beer its delicate citrus aroma and floral taste. |
Hop Back - Spring Zing | 4.20 | | Pale gold, light bodied with a dry hoppiness balances fruity sweetness. Long aftertaste. |
Oakham - Inferno | 4.00 | Not Tried
Downton - Honey Blonde | 4.30 | Not Tried

Late Saturday evening. Busy and loud. Several other beers were available.
Tiny Rebel - The Big Kahuna | 5.20 | | Tasty murk. |
Saltaire - Marmalade Sky | 4.40 | | Almost to my surprise, I find that this tastes of marmalade. |
Pheasantry - Munich Helles | 4.80 | | Truely horrible. I cannot believe it was intended to taste like this. |

My New Year’s resolution to keep out of pubs was going well until around 12:15 when I saw this place and became their third customer of the year. Glad I did go in, it’s a great pub. I don’t think I quite noted the full range of beers available.
