Sunday lunchtime at noon. The tenancy here is no longer with Shepherd Neame but directly with the freeholder, the “Lord of the Manor” apparently. Free of tie by the look of it with Gadd’s and Wantsum on at £5 a pint. Very wet cycle here but three of us made welcome and enjoyed the beer and wood burner. Filling up nicely when we left just after 1.

In a rural setting in The Street, pretty three roomed pub next to the church. The main bar is rustic with a side bar. The main side room is well upholstered and has a view over the churchyard. The pub has a chalk cellar. Long time Shepherd Neame tenancy house now a free house.

We have visited this pub times, seen different beers and tried them all.
