Mid afternoon visit for our party of 3 on Crouch Valley Rail Ale Trail. Quiet on the outside and busy on the inside but still plenty of seating spare. Very fast service from attentive barmaid.

Quick pint on the way back to the railway station. As has been said, this is clearly a well-run, traditional house.

Early to mid evening visit, Philip Pirrip arrived shortly before my departure. This was my first visit here and I was impressed with the way this pub was run, hardworking bar staff and everything spotlessly clean. An excellent wet led pub.
