Busy showcase for fine Kentish produce on a swelteringly hot Sunday.Had an interesting chat with the Old Dairy stallholder, who sells Kentish beers at Farmers Markets throughout the county, and reminisced about The Smarden Bell.

A hoppy, sessionable pale ale. One pint of this, and the sun actually came out for thirty seconds.

Nelson isn't my favourite Kent micro, but this was a good amber best, with solid malts and a bittersweet finish.

Well run food fair, with producers from across the county. For the nostalgic, someone was selling a goats cheese called "Fremlins".

I've not enjoyed Nelson's bottled beer, but this, on gravity , though probably "bright", but who's counting?-was a good amber best bitter, with a refreshing hop bite, balancing a fruity input from the malts.
