Busy showcase for fine Kentish produce on a swelteringly hot Sunday.Had an interesting chat with the Old Dairy stallholder, who sells Kentish beers at Farmers Markets throughout the county, and reminisced about The Smarden Bell.
Old Dairy - Red Top3.80GoodNutty and botanical.Near the end of the polypin but in good order.
Nelson - Admiral IPA4.00AcceptableChestnut brown, toffee malt, hint of bubblegum, some hops. Not really an old school nor a new style IPA.

Popular and well run showcase for Kentish produce. Many pies enjoyed with relish.
Old Dairy - Sun Top3.60ExcellentA hoppy, sessionable pale ale. One pint of this, and the sun actually came out for thirty seconds.
Nelson - Dragon's Revenge4.30GoodNelson isn't my favourite Kent micro, but this was a good amber best, with solid malts and a bittersweet finish.

The first rainy Sunday for months. Crowds sampling fine Kent produce.
Nelson - Loose Cannon4.30ExcellentI've not enjoyed Nelson's bottled beer, but this, on gravity , though probably "bright", but who's counting?-was a good amber best bitter, with a refreshing hop bite, balancing a fruity input from the malts.
