Very much a local customers' pub, the lady behind the bar twice stopped pulling my pint whilst locals engaged her in conversation. The toilets reminded of the sort of pubs that I used to use in the seventies, I had to clean it before I could sit down and I could have done with a lock on the door. A good pint though and we stayed for a second one.

Early evening visit. We called in having been in the area to do the Xmas Dickens festival ect. Some good folky type musicians had just finished. Small crowd in. Although very busy outside, the publican, and another nearby, reported that they had less trade this weekend than normal. Nice old place.
