I came here in July 2012 and commented that I hope to return before too long, well almost seven years later I came back. Our bus was rather late arriving here so we had a choice of staying here for 20 minutes or one hour and twenty minutes for a later bus. My friend had not been here before and chose the latter. We sat and enjoyed some nice beers in very pleasant surroundings. A good range of beers on offer.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter | 4.00 | | Nice Harveys from a proper Gaskell & Chambers handpump in a handle mug, wonderful. |

Early afternoon and there were a lot people eating. I was impressed with the range of beers on offer and hope to make a return visit here before to long.
Castle Rock - Harvest Pale | 3.80 | | I thought I would have a pint here so that I could compare it with the same beer in the Brewery Tap the following day. This was very good indeed. |

A large crowd of us arrived whilst luncheon dining was still in full swing. But the staff warmed to us a tad and all were served with courtesy and even a little chat about the beers as the queue subsided.
1648 - Signature | 4.40 | | I was very impressed by this beer for its dryness for such a very pale liquid |
Isle of Purbeck - Fossil Fuel | 4.10 | | I did not try this but several in the party returned theirs and the clip was turned round |

Great pub, lovely atmosphere, came late afternoon, and sat outside looking over the wonderful scenery, great views. Great staff, lovely old interior to the pub, good food by the looks of it as well. By this time i was on soft drinks, but they did have an extensive list of ales, sadly i remember only one! but they did have two ciders and a perry on as well
Greene King - Abbot | 5.00 | | My friend had this, it's his favourate beer, and he said it was really good condition |

We arrived at 12.30 and found the place very busy with both walkers and locals. The staff were extremely efficient and the beer range was good. I'd love to come here one evening and spend a few hours drinking and soaking up the atmoshpere of the historic interior.
1648 - Signature | 4.40 | | Pale gold colour with a periferal head. Dry sharp hops dominate with an earthy bite. Hint of lemon peel. My favourite of the 1648 range I think. |
RCH - East St Cream (was East Street Cream) | 5.00 | Not Tried
Loddon - Gravesend Shrimpers Bitter | 4.10 | Not Tried
Hogs Back - Hop Garden Gold | 4.40 | Not Tried
