Not that busy for a fine, sunny afternoon very close to the beach and a few feet from the main centre of Whitstable. Served straight away and plenty of inside seating.

Thursday lunchtime during the gap between Christmas and New Year.The pub was humming:we came for a family lunch in an upper room, and enjoyed pointing out the Isle of Sheppey to the Swiss.

We were passing here so we popped in for a pint, the front of the pub was fairly full and the rear reserved from about half an hour's time so we sat in there ready to move when the party turned up for their seats, however nobody came and the area was still empty when we left long after the reserved from time.
