Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Neckstamper - Mizzle | 6.00 | Probably from key-keg I think. A milky-complexion NEIPA. Full-bodied and bitter. Really good. | |
Husk - Derek's Bitter | 3.50 | A golden, session-strength Bitter with a nice malt and hops balance. | |
Marble - Tropical Sour Saison | 5.50 | Keg-dispense. A collaboration with Walthamstow’s Wild Card Brewery. Hazy gold, fruity and sour. | |
Redemption - Urban Dusk | 4.60 | Not Tried | |

Beer | ABV | Score | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Neckstamper - Session IPA (Azacca/Ekuanot) | 4.20 | From key-keg. Hazy gold and well-hopped. Bitter. | |
Neckstamper - Squencher IPA | 5.40 | From key-keg. Golden. A really nice, fruity, US-style IPA. I even kidded myself that I could taste pineapple. | |
Redemption - Hopspur | 4.50 | Fresh and hoppy. | |
Husk - Steam Beer | 5.20 | Described as a Brown Ale, although it is more of an amber colour to my eye. Unfiltered. A smooth mouthfeel. | |
Redemption - Pale Ale | 3.80 | Not Tried | |
Redemption - Victorian Mild (collaboration with The Kernel) | 6.00 | Not Tried | On the pumps and ready to go – but being launched “tomorrow”. |

The pub is found in Bow, Greater London, E3 3QX.
In Devons Road, established by the 1880s as the Bricklayers Arms, this pub was rebuilt as an estate pub, probably in the 1930s. In its day it was a Watney’s Brewery house. In recent years it has passed through a succession of names and themes, including Kitsons and the Liquor Inn. Looking very tired and unloved in the early years of the twenty-first century, the pub has started in 2017 a new lease of life as the Angel of Bow. It is now a joint venture, with Redemption Brewery as one of the partners. Refurbished and redecorated, with six handpumps on the bar. There is one open plan bar space inside, with some patio seating at the front.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 18 different beers and tried 12 of them.
