Lunchtime fairly quiet, a few at the bar and a couple of gents tucking into their lunch. We decided to enjoy a well filled roll each, gone up since my last visit now at £2.50 but still good value.

Late afternoon and busy. Proper drinkers pub at what used to be for many years the eastern terminus of the 227 bus route which was when my last visit was and pleased to see its not changed a bit since. A selection of rolls on offer at £2.40 I opted for the well filled cheese n onion.

The Gordon Arms in Park Road was sympathetically refurbished in autumn 2018 and is much improved as a result. All the seating and flooring has been replaced, but the pub has retained its traditional feel. The pub also now offers a much-improved cask ale range with six handpumps. In addition to the two regulars, visitors are now likely to find one or more beers from small local breweries. A full menu now is available at midweek lunchtimes, with Pie & Mash served as a speciality on Saturdays. Events at the pub include a quiz every other Wednesday, and also occasional "ladies nights". Dogs are not allowed in the pub.
